Skippy Skips’ Terms & Conditions
SKIPPY SKIPS – To ensure safe, efficient supply of service, the following terms and conditions apply: -
SKIPPY SKIPS STANDARD HIRE TERMS
Version 1.1 — 7 October 2026
Applies to bookings accepted under this version.
These Terms apply to ordinary website, phone and other general-customer bookings with Skippy Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 30 670 238 472), trading as Skippy Skips (Skippy).
KEY RULES BEFORE YOU BOOK
- Standard hire is 7 days, as shown in your booking confirmation.
- Payment is due when the bin is delivered.
- Choose the correct bin size and waste stream. Different rules apply to general waste, green waste and heavy-only loads.
- Keep access clear and tell Skippy about site hazards, services, soft or sloping ground and placement restrictions.
- Private-property placement is standard. Placement on public land requires Skippy’s prior approval and any required permission or permit.
- Load only accepted waste. Fire extinguishers, gas bottles, batteries and liquids (including sealed liquids) are not accepted. Contact Skippy before loading if you are unsure about an item.
- A small amount of material may sit above the top rim only if the load remains stable and can be safely covered and transported. Nothing may hang over the sides or ends.
- Do not move, tow, lift, drag or alter the bin, light a fire in it, or put hot or smouldering material in it.
- Extra charges apply only in the circumstances described in these Terms and the applicable charges on Skippy’s FAQ page. Skippy will explain the reason and provide supporting information where available.
- Cancellation is free if Skippy receives at least 3 hours’ notice before the scheduled delivery time. A $30 fee may apply with less notice.
1. YOUR BOOKING
1.1 A booking is confirmed when Skippy accepts it and gives you a booking confirmation. An enquiry or booking request is not confirmation.
1.2 Your confirmation should identify the site, bin size, waste stream, hire period, collection arrangements and quoted price. You must promptly tell Skippy if any details are wrong.
1.3 These Terms, your booking confirmation and the applicable waste, weight and additional charges information on Skippy’s FAQ page form the agreement for your hire. If a booking confirmation contains an agreed job-specific detail, that detail applies to that booking.
1.4 You must give accurate information about the waste, site, access, placement and any special items. Tell Skippy as soon as possible if those details change.
2. PRICE AND PAYMENT
2.1 The confirmed price covers the services and inclusions shown in your booking confirmation. Payment is due when the bin is delivered.
2.2 Skippy will not change the confirmed price simply because its prices later change. Extra charges may apply where:
- you request a change or extension;
- the actual waste, weight, special items, site or access differs from the information provided;
- the load must be reclassified, tested, handled, transported or disposed of differently;
- a customer-controlled condition causes a failed service or return visit; or
- another charge expressly described in these Terms and the applicable charges on Skippy’s FAQ page applies.
2.3 An extra charge must use the calculation method published on Skippy’s FAQ page or be based on reasonable, documented incremental work or third-party cost caused by the changed condition. Skippy will explain the charge and provide supporting information where available. You may ask for an itemised explanation.
2.4 Where you have authorised Skippy to use the payment method supplied for your booking to pay additional charges under these Terms, Skippy may debit that method within the scope of your authorisation. This may include excess weight, mattresses, tyres or solar panels, prohibited material, approved extensions, customer-caused failed service and late cancellation. Skippy will notify you of the amount and reason before debiting and provide supporting information where available. Giving card details for the initial hire alone does not authorise additional debits. Without the required authorisation, or if payment fails, Skippy will invoice you. You may query a charge under clause 12.
2.5 The waste, weight and additional charges information is published at www.skippyskips.com.au/faq. The rates disclosed when your booking is confirmed apply to that booking; references to current or applicable charges mean those rates. Later price changes do not apply retrospectively. A new rate may apply to a later extension or change only after it is disclosed and agreed. If a fee is not published, Skippy will disclose it before you agree to the relevant service; unforeseen costs are dealt with under clause 2.3.
3. HIRE PERIOD AND EXTENSIONS
3.1 Standard hire is 7 days. The dates for your hire are shown in your booking confirmation.
3.2 An earlier collection at your request does not automatically reduce the confirmed hire price.
3.3 Hire beyond 7 days requires Skippy’s approval before the scheduled collection. An approved extension is charged at the fee disclosed and agreed when Skippy approves the extension.
3.4 Skippy may refuse or shorten a requested extension where the bin is needed for another booking or continued hire would be unsafe, unlawful or impracticable. Skippy will discuss collection arrangements with you.
4. DELIVERY, ACCESS AND PLACEMENT
4.1 You must provide safe, clear and lawful truck access and a safe work area for delivery and collection. Keep people, vehicles, gates, branches and other obstructions clear.
4.2 Before delivery, tell Skippy about anything that may affect safe access or placement, including:
- soft, wet, sloping or unstable ground;
- pavers, decorative or new concrete and other damage-sensitive surfaces;
- pits, tanks, septic systems, drains, covers, irrigation and underground services;
- overhead power or telecommunications lines, low branches or structures;
- narrow access, gates, traffic or pedestrian risks; and
- any change to the site after booking.
4.3 You must have authority to allow Skippy to enter the site and place and collect the bin. You are responsible for obtaining permission from the owner, occupier, body corporate or other relevant person where required.
4.4 Private-property placement is the default. A road, footpath, nature strip or other public-land placement is permitted only as an exception specifically approved by Skippy. Before delivery, you must obtain and provide any permission, permit or supporting approval required for the location.
4.5 You may nominate a placement location. Skippy may refuse, defer or require another location if the proposed access or placement is unsafe, unlawful or impracticable. Where practicable, the driver will contact the nominated person before using a different location.
4.6 Skippy will take reasonable care when delivering and collecting. You must identify known site risks and should not ask Skippy to use a surface or location that may not safely support the truck or bin.
5. USING AND CARING FOR THE BIN
5.1 The bin remains Skippy’s property.
5.2 Unless Skippy gives written approval, you must not move, tow, lift, drag, reposition, modify, paint, cover Skippy’s identification, or allow another waste contractor or third party to handle the bin.
5.3 Do not climb into the bin or compact its contents with machinery unless Skippy has given written approval for a specific safe arrangement.
5.4 Do not light a fire in the bin or load hot ash, embers, burning or smouldering material, flammable material or another ignition source.
5.5 Take reasonable care of the bin. Tell Skippy promptly about any damage, collision, fire, theft, attempted theft or unsafe condition.
5.6 You are responsible for reasonable repair, replacement and incident-response costs to the extent that loss or damage is caused by your breach of these Terms or by a person you invite or control at the site. You are not responsible for fair wear and tear or loss caused by Skippy.
6. SAFE LOADING
6.1 Distribute the load evenly and keep it stable.
6.2 A small amount of material may sit above the top rim only if the load remains stable and can be safely covered, lifted and transported. Nothing may hang over or protrude from the sides or ends of the bin.
6.3 Loose, unstable or unsafe material must be removed or rearranged before collection.
6.4 Skippy may refuse or defer collection, or require the load to be corrected, where the bin is unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible, overfilled or unsuitable to lift, cover or transport. Skippy will explain the problem and what must be corrected before collection can be rebooked.
6.5 An included disposal allowance is not a promise that every load up to that weight can be safely lifted or transported. Waste type, distribution, bin condition, site access and transport safety also matter.
7. WASTE TYPES, WEIGHT AND SPECIAL ITEMS
7.1 Book the correct waste stream. General waste, green waste and heavy-only streams are separate and may have different acceptance, weight and price rules. Do not assume the general-waste rules apply to another stream.
7.2 The included general-waste allowance for your selected bin size is shown in your booking confirmation and the waste and weight information on Skippy’s FAQ page. Skippy will confirm the applicable allowance before accepting the booking.
7.3 General-waste weight above the allowance for the selected bin is charged for each commenced 100 kg at the current excess-weight rate published on Skippy’s FAQ page.
7.4 The lower green-waste rate applies only to an accepted green-waste-only load. Green waste may be mixed with general waste, but general-waste pricing applies to the mixed load. Lower concrete, brick, tile or approved clean-soil rates require a dedicated load meeting the acceptance conditions confirmed for that booking. If that load contains metal or general waste, general-waste pricing applies. Ask Skippy before loading if you are unsure whether material is suitable.
7.5 Mattresses, tyres and solar panels are accepted and attract the applicable fee published on Skippy’s FAQ page, whether declared before booking or discovered later. You should declare the type and quantity before booking so the expected charge can be shown in advance.
7.6 Skippy may use weighbridge dockets, disposal-facility records, photographs and job records to confirm the load, weight, classification and applicable charge.
8. PROHIBITED AND UNSUITABLE MATERIAL
8.1 Do not place fire extinguishers, gas bottles or batteries in or beside the bin. Skippy does not accept them.
8.2 No liquids are accepted, including liquids in sealed containers. This includes fuel, oil, wet paint, liquid chemicals and other liquid waste. Unless Skippy has expressly agreed in writing to an authorised disposal arrangement, do not load asbestos or suspected asbestos, other chemicals, explosives, medical or sharps waste, hazardous or regulated waste, or unknown material. Contact Skippy before loading if you are unsure.
8.3 If Skippy identifies prohibited material before collection and someone is present, Skippy will ask that person to remove it only where it is safe and lawful to do so. Do not disturb or handle suspected asbestos, sharps, leaking chemicals or other dangerous material yourself. Keep people away and contact Skippy so appropriate handling and collection arrangements can be made.
8.4 If no one is present, or the material cannot be safely removed, Skippy may defer collection, contact you and apply a return-visit fee disclosed before the original booking was confirmed, or agreed before rebooking, where the failed collection was caused by the prohibited material.
8.5 If prohibited material is discovered after collection, you are responsible for the reasonable and lawful testing, handling, transport and disposal charges that result. Skippy will explain the issue and provide supporting information where available. The charge will use the applicable fee published on Skippy’s FAQ page or otherwise reflect documented third-party and incremental costs.
8.6 Skippy may inspect the visible load and use appropriate records to manage safety, disposal and charge queries. Inspection does not remove your obligation to disclose the waste or either party’s duties under applicable law.
9. COLLECTION, FAILED SERVICE AND DELAYS
9.1 Keep the bin and access route clear and available for the scheduled collection.
9.2 If delivery or collection cannot be completed because customer-controlled access, bin position, overfilling, unsafe loading or another customer-controlled condition prevents service, Skippy may charge the applicable return-visit or failed-service fee disclosed before the original booking was confirmed, or a new fee agreed before rebooking. Skippy will explain the reason and what must be corrected before rebooking.
9.3 Skippy will not discharge waste onsite as a remedy for non-payment, overloading or a failed collection.
9.4 Delivery and collection times are estimates unless Skippy expressly agrees otherwise. Skippy may delay, suspend, cancel or reprioritise work where weather, flood, cyclone conditions, road closure, official direction, unsafe ground or access, an emergency or another safety issue makes the work unsafe or impracticable. Skippy will contact you and arrange a reasonable rebooking, credit or refund for any service it cannot provide, taking account of services already supplied.
10. CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
10.1 Cancellation is free if Skippy receives at least 3 hours’ notice before the scheduled delivery time.
10.2 If Skippy receives less than 3 hours’ notice, a $30 cancellation fee may apply. Any prepaid amount will be refunded less that fee.
10.3 A requested change to the bin, waste stream, address, placement, delivery or collection is subject to Skippy’s acceptance. Skippy will tell you about any resulting price change before proceeding where reasonably practicable.
11. PHOTOS AND JOB RECORDS
11.1 Skippy may take reasonable photographs of the site, bin, access and load and keep booking confirmations, driver notes, communications, weighbridge dockets and disposal records to deliver the service, manage safety, explain charges and resolve disputes.
11.2 Skippy collects, holds and uses customer contact details, service and billing addresses, and relevant booking and payment information to provide services, communicate with customers, process authorised payments and manage enquiries or disputes. Skippy takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. Contact Skippy if you wish to request access to or correction of your personal information, or raise a privacy concern.
12. QUESTIONS, COMPLAINTS AND CHARGE QUERIES
12.1 Contact Skippy promptly using the details on your booking confirmation or its website if you have a question or complaint. Please provide your name, site address, booking or invoice number and the reason for the query.
12.2 Pay any amount that is not disputed when due. Skippy will review a genuine dispute using the booking details and available job records and will correct a charge if warranted.
13. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
14.1 The version accepted for a confirmed booking applies to that booking.
14.2 A later version applies only to future bookings unless you and Skippy agree otherwise in writing.
15. GENERAL
15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland. The parties submit to the courts and tribunals with jurisdiction in Queensland.
15.2 If any part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
15.3 If Skippy does not enforce a right immediately, that does not prevent Skippy from enforcing it later.
